Protecting and Restoring the Ocean

"If we save the sea, we save our world", Sir David Attenborough (Life on Earth, 2023)

Protecting and restoring the ocean are inextricably linked to respecting human rights, as regularly highlighted by the actions of the "Tara Ocean Foundation" in its fight against plastic pollution in the ocean and the report "The Ocean and Human Rights: Human Right to a Clean, Healthy and Sustainable Environment", December 2024, by UN Special Rapporteur Astrid Puentes Riaño. Knowing & Acting: services for protecting and restoring the Ocean

Knowing & Acting, a contributor to SDG 14

Knowing & Acting's actions are aligned with the implementation of SDG 14. Knowing & Acting seeks partnerships to contribute to the sustainability, protection, conservation, and restoration of the ocean. Its strength lies in breaking down silos and fostering cross-sectoral collaboration: Northern/Southern countries, scientists/legal professionals, businesses/NGOs, etc.

  • Knowing & Acting initiated, developed, and facilitated two international roundtables on the ocean and human rights at the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) in June 2025: "One Ocean Equity and the Right to a Healthy, Sustainable Ocean for All"* and "Art as a Mobilizing Force: The Ocean and Human Rights"**. Knowing and Acting a prévu de continuer à créer et animer des tables rondes internationales avec la plate-forme "Ocean and Human Rights".
